I was very excited to help Simi and Sid plan their Indian wedding at one of my favorite venues, Viansa Winery in Sonoma. Indian weddings are full of tradition and they are so much fun to plan. Traditional Indian weddings will go on for days, but most Western couples opt to incorporate some of these traditions in just a day or two. For Simi and Sid, we started the weekend off with a Sangeet (welcome party) at Viansa’s sister property, BR Cohn. The rolling hills of BR Cohn set the perfect backdrop for traditional Indian cuisine, Menhndi (henna), followed by some Bollywood dancing. It was the perfect way to welcome all of their guests to wine country!

Next day was the wedding at Viansa. They wanted more of a traditional Indian ceremony (but shorter) under a mandap (structure acting as the sacred altar), followed by a typical wine country reception, with an elevated menu and specialty cocktails. They even opted for custom ice cubes for their cocktails which had their initials on them. After dinner, the guests danced the night away. It may have been one of my favorite weddings ever to plan. Take a look at these beautiful photos to see how it all came together!
